Jury Services, Inc. is the longest established jury consultant firm in the metropolitan Washington, D. C. area serving the legal community for almost 30 years.  Located across the river in Alexandria, Virginia, our firm serves selected law firms in Washington, DC and neighboring Maryland and Virginia, as well as clients throughout the U.S.  We are members of the American Society of Trial Consultants (ASTC), and subscribe to the organization’s Code of Ethics.

Margie S. Fargo

Marjorie S. Fargo, M.A.
President and Senior Litigation Consultant

Marjorie S. Fargo has worked full time as a jury and trial consultant since 1975. She was awarded ASTC’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2008, recognizing her 30+ years of service in the field of trial consulting. As one of the first consultants in this field, Ms. Fargo pioneered the application of focus group methodology for jury research in complex criminal and civil trials. Drawing upon her work in hundreds of criminal and civil trials in jurisdictions throughout the United States, Ms. Fargo advises counsel in Federal and state criminal and civil litigation regarding case strategy, voir dire and jury selection. Her practice areas include the following:

Ms. Fargo holds a B.A. from the University of Florida, and an M.A. from George Mason University.  She has submitted affidavits and testified as an expert on jury procedures to improve jury procedures in state and Federal courts and has been court appointed in both capital and non-capital murder cases. She served on the Board of the American Society of Trial Consultants from 1988 to 1991.

Since 1979, Dr. Seltzer has designed, directed, and analyzed juror opinion polls in a wide range of criminal and civil trials in the metropolitan Washington, D.C. area and throughout the U.S. He has conducted jury composition challenges in both state and Federal jurisdictions. Dr. Seltzer has been a member of the Council for Court Excellence’s (CCE’s) evaluation of juror participation in the District of Columbia and has testified as an expert witness on statistical survey methodologies. Dr. Seltzer is a Graduate Faculty professor in the Department of Political Science at Howard University.

Dr. Seltzer holds a Ph.D. from the University of Denver, and specializes in the following practice areas:
